Dr. Daniel J. Heinmiller, M.D.



"Dr. Dan" received his undergraduate education and a B.S. cum laude in Science Preprofessional Studies at the University of Notre Dame. He graduated from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in December, 1982. Dr. Dan completed his pediatric residency at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and received the Miner W. Seymour Teaching Award in 1985. He practiced at Associated Pediatrics in Westerville for five years and then founded Gahanna Pediatrics, Inc. in July, 1991. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor with the Ohio State University College of Medicine and is board certified in pediatrics. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Central Ohio Pediatric Society, of which he used to be president. Dr. Dan’s professional interests are infectious disease, dermatology, asthma, and immunology. His personal interests are reading, playing guitar, and golfing. Dr. Dan is married and has three grown sons.

Dr. Richard A. Kern, M.D.



Dr. Kern joined Gahanna Pediatrics in 1999. He attended The Ohio State University College of Medicine and received his degree in 1982. He completed a 3-year residency in Pediatrics in 1985 and a 2-year fellowship in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics in 1987, both at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus. From 1987 to 1999 he was on the faculty of OSU College of Medicine's Department of Pediatrics. During this time he took care of children with developmental disabilities, intellectual disability, and autism, as well as those with sleep disorders and those suspected of being physical or sexually abused. Dr. Kern continues to be interested in these problems in his current work as a primary care pediatrician. In his spare time Dr. Kern likes reading, wine-tasting, and cooking, as well as attending movies, plays, art exhibits, and concerts of all kinds. He has a son and a daughter.
